The Capital Brief | MSV, OIL, OWL webinar & ACR webinar + Firmus

4 min read

With the bulk of upcoming September 2026 quarter 4C quarterly activities reports not expected to land until much later in October, investors have spent their time pondering other things.

Some were ruminating over likely market reaction to the upcoming gigantic IPO Firmus – an ultimately fruitless exercise, with the float canned as I was bringing this newsletter together.

Others have been watching the direction of US opinion polls ahead of the early November US mid-terms, which currently do not look good for Present Trump and the Republicans.

This TCN Newsletter looks at recent sentiment positive news flow from drilling solutions group and new client Mitchell Services (ASX:MSV) and emerging health care company Optiscan Imaging (ASX:OIL). It also alerts investors to two upcoming investor webinars.

The first of these webinars is being given by Acrux (ASX:ACR) on Monday 12 October 2026 at 3.00PM AEDT. This company is currently focused on the development and commercialisation of its proprietary Female Testosterone Metered Dose Transdermal System.

The second webinar will be given by key members of Overwatch Technologies on 15 October 2026 at 12.00 noon AEDT. The company is timetabled to list on the ASX on the following day, after recently completing a successful IPO raise.

The company reported a strong year ended June 2026 earnings performance back in August, underpinned by high-quality clients that operate on sites that are generally lowest on the cost curve.

At the top line, around 75% of Mitchell Services’ FY26 revenue was derived from global mining

majors, while 80% of revenue was from production, development and resource definition drilling.

At the commodity level, gold accounted for about 60% of the company’s FY26 revenue. At the same time, Mitchell Services has successfully increased its exposure to the metalliferous sector over the past year, and also expanded into additional mining regions.

While Mitchell Services materially reduced net debt levels over FY26, it remains committed to growing the business. To this end, the company’s rig count is expected to expand in FY27.

Looking ahead, Mitchell Services is upbeat about the FY27 outlook, with the company’s FY26 Results Presentation indicating it is currently well placed to capitalise on the growing pipeline of drilling opportunities in the mining sector.

Optiscan Imaging (ASX:OIL)

Optiscan Imaging (ASX: OIL) is a global leader in the development, manufacturing, and commercialisation of confocal endomicroscopic imaging technologies for medical, translational and pre-clinical applications. Its technology platforms enable real-time, non-destructive, 3D, in-vivo digital imaging at the single-cell level.

The regulatory approval and commercial development journeys for two of Optiscan’s imaging devices were materially advanced in early October 2026.

This period saw the company lodge separate 510(k) submissions with the U.S. FDA for its InForm™ digital pathology and InVue™ precision surgery devices.

510(k) submissions to the U.S. FDA are a big deal in the development journey for yet-to-be-approved medical devices. They effectively move devices beyond internal development, testing and validation into a formal regulatory assessment process.

InForm™’s 510(k) submission follows the completion of substantial technical, clinical and regulatory work. It is a next gen microscopic medical imaging device specifically designed for pathology workflows.

Optiscan’s lodgement of its U.S. FDA 510(k) submission for the InVue™ precision surgery device was announced to the market just days after the InForm™ submission.

Optiscan noted that the InVue™ submission both demonstrated the maturity of the device and took it closer to potential entry into the substantial and expanding United States surgical market.

While the formal regulatory reviews for both devices play out, Optiscan will continue to build its clinical reference network and deepen engagement with pathology customers, institutions and potential commercial partners.

Acrux (ASX:ACR)

The company has more recently focused on the development and commercialisation of its proprietary Female Testosterone Metered Dose Transdermal System (MDTS).

It is being presented by Acrux CEO John Warmbrunn and myself.

The webinar will update investors on the company’s efforts to bring its Female Testosterone MDTS treatment to market. Topics to be covered include:
